Network Operations Technician-monitored customers' T1, T3, and 56K frame connections, dedicated and shared web/mail/ftp servers
using network monitors such as Monarch and Netcool, MRTG/RTG packet monitoring graphs and other network
tools. When disruptions occurred contacted appropriate staff at customer, employer,
telcom companies and upstream providers to locate, troubleshoot and repair causes
of disruption. Assisted in troubleshooting by checking connection and operating
status of Cisco routers and router interfaces and relaying this info to network
support engineers and customers. Also performed troubleshooting of servers and perform repairs such as restarting services, resetting user passwords and clearing disk space by compressing and moving files such as logs.
